“I seldom do training …”

“I seldom do training …”

That was a response when my fellow associate asked me whether I was interested in conducting Agile training. I seldom help clients to “download” information. There are a few excellent trainers I can introduce. So what do I do? Below is my typical response.

“I shift people’s mindsets … “

Usual response is “That will not work with my clients. They expect solutions from me … ”  My assumption is potential clients are searching for solutions. My preference is my potential clients are involved in developing the potential solutions. Here is an example when working with me : developing incremental and iterative habits for people who are used to project thinking with clear start and stop.
#1 : Sharing some resources related to the idea of incremental and iterative. Help clients to make meaning from the new ideas.
#2 : Help clients to overcome objections and challenges from new ideas. Start small with a new experiment. Usually I help clients to develop new “images” of themselves.
#3 : Help clients to convert a new experiment to a new habit.
